Have you been looking for a simple smoothie recipe in the morning that is powerful for your health?

I have the answer for you right here.  This is the BEST Green Smoothie recipe!

It is so simple that it only includes 4 ingredients and yet it taste so delicious that my children ask for it for breakfast every morning.  It contains prebiotics, probiotics, vitamins and minerals. 

I love using my blender to make smoothies for my family every morning, I recently updated my blender to this Vitemix Blender.  It has been a game changer.  I can now put whole, frozen bananas into my blender for smoothies and it blends them with no problem instead of using ice.  One of my readers gave me this pro tip so your bananas don’t go off.  Perfect! 

If you do not have a Vitamix Blender or one of equal power, I recommend slicing your bananas before freezing them.

THE BEST GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE

1 cup Raw milk kefir (or regular milk kefir)
1 to 1 1/2 Organic Banana(s) (peel and then freeze)
1 handful  Earthbound Farms Organic Power Greens Mix (Baby Spinach, Baby Chard,  Baby Kale)
1 handful Organic Fresh Blueberries

Throw it all into the blender and mix!  It’s that simple. If your bananas aren’t frozen then you can still use them and add some ice to make it cold.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS:

Sometimes for my children I will add in a spoonful of organic vanilla yogurt to sweeten it a bit more or a couple of prunes.  I also tend to use a pretty big handful of the leafy greens!

As a parent I am always looking for ways to make sure they have a balanced diet.  Feel free to get creative and add your own spin to meet your needs.  Enjoy!

  • Thank you so much for writing about this! I’m definitely going to be trying this smoothie as is sounds delish!
    If you don’t mind me suggesting, so your smoothies don’t get watered down and you can enjoy the full flavor, rather than adding ice, you may want to try freezing your bananas and blueberries. I too have ninja and as long as you cut the banana in to smaller pieces prior to blending, it mashes them perfectly.
